The cement plant of Chlef, subsidiary of the Algerian Cement Industrial Group GICA, exported 8,000 tonnes of clinker to Spain, the plant’s CEO Dinar Kada said on Tuesday.
On the sidelines of the 4th International Fair of Industry, Energy, Construction, Civil Engineering and Exportation “Oran Invest Expo,” held currently at the Convention Center “Mohamed Benahmed” of Oran, Dinar Kada told APS that 8,000 tonnes of clinker was exported to Spain in the beginning of current week from Tenes Port in Chlef.
The official underlined that, since the beginning of current year, a total of 300,000 tonnes of clinker have been exported to several countries in Europe, Latin America and Africa, pointing out that the cement plant plans to export, this year, 1.5 million tonnes of clinker to different European, Latin-American and African countries.
He noted that the plant signed agreements with several countries of the three continents to export the aforementioned quantity, which would reach 2.5 million tonnes.
Dinar Kada underlined that the cement plant of Chlef inaugurated this month, a third cement production line destined to exportation with a capacity of 2 million tonnes per year, increasing this the plant’s cement production to 4.2 million tonnes/ year, in addition to clinker produced in the same plan.
